Description
The Fuji LTO9 tape cartridge, or Fujifilm LTO Ultrium 9 Data Cartridge 71045, stores up to 18TB in native or uncompressed capacity at speeds up to 400MB/sec, and up to 45TB of compressed data at speeds up to 1,000MB/sec or 1GB/sec. That is up to 1.38TB per hour for native/uncompressed data or up to 3.24TB per hour for compressed data. The Fuji LTO 9 data cartridge supports encryption and LTFS and continues to use Barium Ferrite (BaFe) particles, which improve reliability, longevity, and density. The Fujifilm LTO9 data cartridge is 1,035m (1.035km) long, 12.65mm wide, and has 8,960 tracks using a 32-track serpentine head. The Fuji LTO Ultrium9 tape cartridge is designed for use with all brands of LTO9 or LTO Ultrium 9 tape drives and libraries, and these drives can also read and write to LTO8 data cartridges. For high-resolution 4K and 8K video, Big Data, and the ever-increasing data requirements of government and business, the Fuji LTO9 tape is a perfect solution for a more reliable, cost-effective archive, low-access storage, and managed storage and backup.
The Fujifilm LTO9 data cartridge supports Encryption and LTFS. Tape with LTFS (Linear Tape File System) is an industry-standard, self-describing format that allows tape media to be accessed like a hard drive or USB flash drive. It partitions the tape to create a file system index, enabling drag-and-drop file access without proprietary backup software, simplifying data archiving and portability across Windows, Linux, and macOS. The LTO 9 cartridge has 261,888 bits (32,736 bytes) of memory, an internal EEPROM with an electromagnetic induction antenna (basically an RFID chip) that stores information about the files stored (index) and tape errors written by the tape drive itself. The Veritape LTO Ultrium cartridge analyser reads this data to allow tape users to weed out problematic tapes and identify drives that may be becoming faulty or out of spec. It also matches the tape serial number and barcode label, so tapes cannot be substituted with the same barcode label.
Stutch Data is an authorised distributor & reseller of Fujifilm ANZ products, and the products we supply carry the Fujifilm ANZ warranty. See the detailed warranty information in the panel above.
For the option of LTO barcode labels attached to your tapes, please see Application of Tape Barcode Labels for details.
Drives that use the FujiFilm/Fuji LTO Ultrium 9 data cartridges are recommended to use the Fuji LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge to keep the drive clean.
