The Garner HD-2XT degausser is a high speed hard drive and tape degausser and will wipe any magnetically recorded data using a high powered electro-magnet system. The HD-2XT degausser has an easy to use drawer and is light weight at 15.5kg's (34lbs). The Garner HD-2 degausser has one button operation and a continuous duty cycle of 8 seconds which erases high coercivity hard drives and tapes as it has a 1 Tesla or 10,000 guass nominal magnetic field strength). The Garner HD-2XT verifies the erasure field strength, and numerically displays the gauss level after each cycle. The HD-2XT erases magnetically recorded media like hard drives (laptop, desktop and network up to 1" high) and high coercivity tape media, including all formats of LTO (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & 9), 3592/3590/3490/3480, T10k T1 & T2/9940/9840, SuperDLT I, II,DLT S4,& DLT, AIT, 8mm, DDS/DAT and more, all without any adapters. The HD-2XT has a manufacturer's 1 year warranty and has the option to add 1 additional year warranty to cover 2 years or add 2 additional years warranty to cover for 3 years if required.

The Garner HD-2 degausser has an optional shipping/transportation case which eliminates the risk of damage during transportation and storage. This allows you to transport the HD-2 degausser directly to the location of your media safely and securely (sold separately or as a bundle).

The Garner HD-2 degausser has a continuous duty rating, (no cooling cycle necessary) quiet operation and a 8 second cycle time, and the HD-2 can fit right on a desktop. The HD-2 is exceptionally user-friendly, simply place your media into the drawer on the right side of the HD-2 and push the "Erase" button and within 8 seconds your media is erased. Then open the drawer and remove your erased/degaussed media. It just doesn't get any easier than that! The HD-2 has been independently tested and certified to meet both ANSI and CE standards. Built-in safeguards check the stored power before each erase cycle ensuring complete erasure every time. LCD display and audible tones, lighted push buttons report the status of the HD-2 to the operator.

Degauss vs. Overwrite: The HD-2 produces an erasing field many times stronger than the erasing fields produced by the read/write heads in hard drives and tape drives. The field strength along with the encompassing magnetic field ensure the data is no longer recoverable by computer, laboratory attacks or electron microscope. Since the HD-2 does not rely on software, the HD-2 degausser will also completely and permanently erase failed and damaged hard drives regardless of the operating system or interface.
