Description
The HP LTO-6A Ultrium 6 MP Worm tape cartridge C7976W is a Metal Particle tape designed for data that is written once but never overwritten or changed. Therefore this is a Write Once Read Many (WORM) Data Cartridge and cannot be written to more than once. It is ideal for backups and archive that will never be changed.
HP LTO-6 Ultrium media offers the best capacity and performance ratio of any tape technology, with terabyte-class capacity and performance.
It can write or read data at a blistering 1.4 TB/hour, storing, encrypting and protecting up to 6.25 TB on a single cartridge, making it the big hitter in large-scale, 24x7, mission-critical IT environments, It supports transfer speeds of 160 MB/s (native), 400 MB/s (2.5:1)

All the drives that use HP LTO 6 WORM C7976W tapes are recommended to use the HP LTO Universal Cleaning Cartridge C7978A to maintain the drive in top condition.

LTO cartridges should not be used or stored outside these parameters
- Operational Environment Temperature: 10-45 degrees centigrade
- Short Term Storage Environment Temperature: 16-35 degrees centigrade
- Archival Storage (long-term) Environment Temperature: 16-25 degrees centigrade
- Wet Bulb Environment Temperature (Operational, Short & Long Term Storage): not to exceed 26 degrees centigrade max.
- Operational Environmental Humidity: 10-80% relative humidity
- Short Term Storage Environmental Humidity: 20-80% relative humidity
