HPE External 1.0m MiniSAS HD to MiniSAS Cable 716189-B21

The HPE external 1.0m MiniSAS HD to MiniSAS Cable 716189-B21 is a MiniSAS HD SFF8644 to MiniSAS SFF8088 1.0m cable allowing connection between a HBA SAS PCIe external port cards, with an external LTO tape drive or an LTO tape library drive with safe and efficient connectivity.

All LTO tape drives whether external or in a tape library ranging from LTO1 to LTO8 have a requirement for a miniSAS SFF-8088 cable end (rectangular miniSAS plug) to plug them in. Therefore any of these LTO-1-LTO-8 tape drives could use this cable as long as the receiving SAS HBA PCI-e card, SAS adaptor or network connection where the drive will be plugged into has a miniSAS HD SFF-8644 plug (square miniSAS plug). An LTO9 tape drive has a requirement for a miniSAS SFF-8644 cable end (square) to plug them in. Therefore any of these LTO-9 tape drives could use this cable as long as the receiving SAS HBA PCI-e card, SAS adaptor or network connection where the drive will be plugged into, has a miniSAS HD SFF-8088 plug (square). Otherwise if they are both miniSAS square plug holes you will need a miniSAS HD SFF8864 to miniSAS HD SFF8864 square plug on both ends cable.
