The HPE LTO-9 Ultrium 9 45000 SAS External Tape drive kit BC042A comes with the drive, a HPE LTO-9 tape cartridge and a minSAS High Density (HD) SFF8642 to HD SFF8642 cable so you can start backing up straight away! If you have an older SAS HBA PCI-e card we can sometimes replace the supplied cable with a minSAS High Density (HD) SFF8642 to miniSAS SFF8088 cable so you can still connect. These drive kits come with a HPE 3 years parts exchange warranty with next business day response (NBD) to ensure you are always able to rely on your HPE LTO9 drive to backup, archive and restore.
This drive will read from and write to LTO-9 tapes at up to 400MB/sec with a capacity of up to 18TB native or up to 1,000MB/sec with a capacity of up to 45TB compressed, and can read from and write to LTO-8 tapes giving you flexibility when you upgrade.

These HPE LTO-9 Ultrium 45000 SAS external tape drives connect through the new HD square SAS plug port 12 Gbps Serial Attached Small Computer Systems Interface (SAS).

The HPE LTO Ultrium9 45000 SAS External Tape drive BC042A are recommended to use the HPE LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge C7978A to keep the drive clean, and to write data with the maximum capacity the HPE LTO-9 Ultrium 45TB RW Data Cartridge Q2079A or the HPE LTO-8 Ultrium RW Data Cartridge Q2078A.
