The HPE rebadged MSL LTO Ultrium8 30750 SAS Drive Upgrade Kit is a HPE LTO-8 MSL tape library drive (Q6Q68A) able to be used in any HPE MSL tape library. This drive is a HPE MSL half height LTO-8 SAS tape drive for use with the HPE Autoloader 1/8 (1 drive max), MSL2024 (2 drives max), MSL4048 (4 drives max), MSL3040 (3 drives per base module then 3 drives per add on unit) or MSL6480 libraries (6 drives per base module then 6 drives per add on unit). This MSL tape library drive connects using a SAS 6Gbps interface. The LTO-8 SAS drive upgrade kit comes with a 29-Pin SAS-2 connector and the tapes have a capacity of up to 12TB native capacity at a speed up to 360MB/sec and up to 30TB compressed capacity at a speed up to 750MB/sec data transfer rate. This MSL tape library half height drive drive can read from and write to LTO-8 tapes and LTO-7 tapes.

The HPE rebadged MSL LTO8 tape drive can be added to a new MSL tape library, an existing MSL tape library that is capable of having more than one drive, or can replace a failed tape drive in a MSL tape library.
