Description
The IBM LTO4 data cartridge or LTO Ultrium 4 tape cartridge 95P4436 has up to 800GB native capacity at a rate of up to 120MB/s, and up to 1.6TB compressed capacity at a rate of up to 240 MB/s. The IBM LTO 4 tape cartridge is green in colour, uses Metal Particle (MP) as it's storage particles, has 896 tracks and is 820m long. These IBM LTO4 tapes are backward compatible and therefore suitable for read and write in all LTO4 or LTO Ultrium 4 tape drives, for read and write in all LTO5 or LTO Ultrium 5 tape drives and read only in LTO6 or LTO Ultrium 6 tape drives.
For the option of LTO barcode labels attached to your tapes please see Application of Tape Barcode Labels for details.
Drives that use the IBM LTO Ultrium 4 data cartridges 95P4436 are recommended to use the IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge 35L2086 to keep the drive clean.
The 95P4436 provides a high-capacity, high-reliability tape cartridge for LTO Ultrium Generation 4 storage environments. The IBM LTO4 tape is available in rewritable and write once, read many cartridges (WORM). Data that is encrypted by LTO Ultrium 4 drives can be stored on both rewritable and WORM media to maintain data integrity. It is designed to help improve read/write reliability by storing IBM's statistical media read/write analysis on every use of the cartridge when using IBM LTO tape drives. Designed to help improve read/write reliability by storing IBM's statistical media read/write analysis on every use of the cartridge when used with IBM LTO tape drives. The IBM LTO Ultrium 4 800 GB Data Cartridge continues to provide high quality, high-reliability tape technology for your business. Clients can further protect data by using this cartridge with LTO 4 encryption enabled drives. These 95P4436 cartridges continue to be part of a long line of IBM data cartridges designed to improve data integrity for organisations around the world. The IBM LTO 4 cartridges have been optimised and tested extensively for use in IBM LTO tape drives and libraries to help maximise performance, minimise data loss and improve data longevity. They are designed to withstand the rigors of normal use in stand-alone and automated environments. Each cartridge is embedded with an LTO Cartridge Memory (LTO-CM) chip, which is designed to enable fast, simultaneous transfer of cartridge-dependent data with IBM tape drives during media load and unload cycles. The green cartridge colour helps distinguish it from previous generations of IBM LTO Ultrium Media. The IBM LTO Ultrium 4 800 GB Data Cartridge can be used in products featuring LTO Generation 4 tape technology. As your storage needs grow, your data cartridge can continue providing value to help maximise your investment.

IBM LTO CARTRIDGE STORAGE:
To prevent condensation and for long life, the IBM LTO 4 Ultrium Data Cartridges should only be operated in or stored in the following conditions.
IBM LTO CARTRIDGE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT:
10-45 degrees Celsius/Centigrade and 20-80% Humidity
IBM LTO CARTRIDGE STORAGE ENVIRONMENT:
16-35 degrees Celsius/Centigrade and 20-80% Humidity
IBM LTO CARTRIDGE HANDLING:
Handle the IBM LTO Ultrium cartridge carefully. It may be damaged or degraded if it is dropped. Labels should be placed on the front side of the cartridge in the recessed area. Do not put labels anywhere else on the cartridge as this can damage the drive or cause load errors. When not in use IBM LTO cartridges should be stored and transported in their plastic clam-shell case. Do not store cartridges in direct sunlight.
