Description
The IBM LTO Ultrium 7 Data Cartridge 38L7302 stores up to 6TB in native at 300MB/sec or uncompressed capacity, with up to 15TB of compressed data at 750MB/sec. IBM LTO 7 cartridges use the new technology Barium Ferrite (BaFe) which improves reliability, longevity and density. The IBM LTO7 tape cartridge 38L7302 is a recent release called Generation 7 with high speed and capacity. Please note this cartridge is the same cartridge as the Lenovo branded tape, but Lenovo is the retail brand and usually more expensive than IBM! This IBM LTO Ultrium 7 tape is 960 meters long, and writes at 5.1 m/sec and has 3,584 tracks to store the data.

Drives that use the IBM LTO Ultrium 7 data cartridges 38L7302 are recommended to use the IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge 35L2086 to keep the drive clean.

- CARTRIDGE STORAGE: To prevent condensation and for long life, the IBM LTO 7 Ultrium Data Cartridges should only be operated in or stored in the following conditions.
- CARTRIDGE OPERATING ENVIRONMENT: 10-45 degrees Celsius/Centigrade and 20-80% Humidity
- CARTRIDGE STORAGE ENVIRONMENT: 16-35 degrees Celsius/Centigrade and 20-80% Humidity
- CARTRIDGE HANDLING: Handle the IBM LTO Ultrium cartridge carefully. It may be damaged or degraded if it is dropped. Labels should be placed on the front side of the cartridge in the recessed area. Do not put labels anywhere else on the cartridge as this can damage the drive or cause load errors. When not in use IBM LTO cartridges should be stored and transported in their plastic clam-shell case. Do not store cartridges in direct sunlight.
