The IBM LTO Ultrium 9 tape cartridge has encryption, LTFS support and continues the use of Barium Ferrite (BaFe) particles which improves reliability, longevity and density. The IBM LTO-9 data cartridge has a length of 1,035m (1.03km), a width of 12.65mm and has 8,960 tracks using a 32 track serpentine head.  The IBM LTO 9 Ultrium tape is designed to be used in all brands of LTO9 or LTO Ultrium 9 tape drives and libraries, and these LTO9 drives can also read and write to LTO8 data cartridges. High resolution 4K and 8K video, Big Data, and the ever increasing data requirements of business make the IBM LTO9 tape a perfect solution for a more reliable and cheaper archive, low access storage and managed storage.
