The IBM LTO 9 WORM data cartridge or IBM LTO Ultrium 9 WORM tape cartridge 02XW569 can hold up to 18TB of native or uncompressed capacity at a transfer rate of 400MB/sec and up to 45TB of compressed data at a transfer rate of up to 1,000MB/sec or 1GB/sec. The IBM LTO9 WORM data cartridge is brick red in colour, uses Bariun Ferrite (BaFe) as it's storage particles, has 8,960 tracks and is 1035m long. The IBM LTO 9 WORM tape is a Write Once Read Many (WORM) tape and suitable for backup and archive where you wish to keep the data unchanged after it is first written, but can read the data as often as required. The IBM LTO9 WORM cartridge supports partitioning and is suitable to read and write in all LTO9 or LTO Ultrium 9 tape drives. Please note this cartridge is the same cartridge as the Lenovo branded LTO 9 WORM data cartridge, but Lenovo is the retail brand and usually more expensive!
For the option of LTO barcode labels attached to your tapes please see Application of Tape Barcode Labels for details. This would then become the IBM LTO Ultrium Generation 9 WORM data cartridge pre-labelled 02XW569L.
Drives that use the IBM LTO Ultrium9 WORM data cartridges 02XW569 are recommended to use the IBM LTO Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridge 35L2086 to keep the drive clean.
