LTO6, LTO Ultrium 6 WORM Data Cartridges

The LTO6 Ultrium WORM data cartridges are Write Once, Read Many (WORM) data cartridges. These WORM LTO-6 tape cartridges are mainly used for data that requires a long retention period and protection from the data bring deleted or overwritten by anyone. LTO 6 Ultrium WORM tape cartridges are often used for archives or version copies so no one can modify or change what was written, but they can be read as often as required.

These LTO ULtrium 6 WORM data tapes can be written to once and read as required in a LTO Ultrium 6 tape drive only. WORM media can be appended to if data is already present on the tape. The tape media also stores unique identifiers which allow the drive to determine whether or not the media has been tampered with. WORM tapes offer a method of data retention for compliance laws such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
