The Sony DVM63HDR DVC HD cassette offers 63 minutes of high-definition recording, ideal for HD video cameras and mini DV camcorders. It features 90% fewer errors and 50% fewer dropouts compared to standard DV tapes, ensuring improved reliability and audio/video stability. This cassette is perfect for capturing high-quality videos with minimal disruptions.

The Sony DVM63HDR digital video cassette records in HDV 1080i (63 minutes) or HDV 720p/DV (SP setting provides  63 minutes & LP setting provides 94 minutes recording) depending on the recording format selected. They have 3dB higher carrier-to-noise ratio versus premium DVC tape. These Sony HDV tapes also conform to the MiniDV standard, yet is manufactured with much higher tolerances and incorporates the AME II technology, as Advanced Metal Evaporated technology improves the quality of the recording surface. The new lubricant improves tape stability running under a wide range of operating conditions.

Sony's 63-minute High Definition DVC tape offers high quality recording media for the consumer making the step-up to an HD camcorder. It is the recommended media for Sony's consumer HDV camcorders. Consumers will appreciate the improved image quality, and the 63 minute tape duration. The additional 3-minutes on the DVM63HD tape is for test recording. This helps the user calibrate the camera for best results.

The HD video cameras and Mini DV camcorders that use this tape need to use the Sony Video Head Cleaning Cassette for DVCAM small to clean the camera recording heads but as DVCAM and miniDV format is an open technology you can use any brand shown here.
